Reverence to a sacred totem pole taken from the Nuxalk Nation in the early 1900’s. The long house entrance pole is currently on display at the Royal British Columbia Museum. Descendants of its carver, Chief Snuxyaltwa (whose spirit is said to be in the totem), are still petitioning for its rightful return to the Nuxalkmc people.
