I grew up in a home full of love and noise — a big family in a small town, where the rhythm of many lives at once was the background music to everyday life. But now and then, I’d see my mother and aunts set everything aside to create. Charcoal sketches, mixed media, murals — each had her own style, her own rhythm. Watching them taught me something that stayed with me: art can be your escape, your power, your joy. Even in the mess. Especially in the mess.
That memory became my why.
I didn’t come here through the “usual” artist path. I studied accounting, earned a CPA, worked in corporate automation at Tesla and Microsoft— but I never stopped making. Over the years I’ve trained in calligraphy, oil painting, sculpture, plaster work, jewelry design, and mural-making. Not because I had to — but because I couldn’t not. And I’ve carried that with me ever since.
Emerald is where that journey finally lands — a space for anyone who wants to make with heart. It’s for people who’ve been craving a pause. Who want to spend anafternoon with color on their hands and peace in their minds. Who are ready to feel proud of something they created with their own two hands.
Emerald is a place where anyone, regardless of background or skill, can experience the joy of creating something with their own hands.
You don’t need to call yourself an artist to belong here.
You just need to show up, curious and open.
And I promise, you’ll walk home feeling proud, feeling like you found a little part of you in something you made.
Emerald is your creative escape.
